Certified Awesome
Learn how to kick start a new career through training programs powered by Goodwill. In this class, review the steps for seeking training including Goodwill's On-the-Job Training opportunities to help you secure employment and update your skills for today's in-demand jobs.
Document Review Lab
Have a Career Center staff member review any document needed for your job search and guide you in the right direction. This open door lab is open to walk ins and used to assist job seekers with enhancing their resumes, cover letters, reference sheets and other items to continue an effective job search.
Email Etiquette
Learn best practices for creating and using email in relation to your job search. In this class you will review how important email is a professional and a job seeker in addition to the steps for attaching documents, such as resumes, to an email.
First Impressions
Learn how to instantly make a positive impression and kick your interview off on the right foot. In this class, review interview clothing, what to bring and how to professionally introduce yourself to shine when meeting potential employers. Sometimes the most basic things can prevent you from succeeding in today's market so come review first steps for success!
I Got Skillz
Learn how to identify and highlight your existing employability skills in all phases of your job search and learn that employers want to know your abilities. Skills are the key to getting hired and in this class you will learn the best ways to identify your skills.
Intake Hours
Are you interested in speaking one on one with an Empoyment Specialist to review your indivudal job search plan and goals? Sign up for a 30 minute Intake session and come prepared to review your progress and next steps while determiing what resources you may benefit from at Career Connections.
Interview Ingredients
Learn how preparation for an interview can make or break you and how to secure a great first impression as a candidate. In this class you will review common interview questions and how preperation can reduce nervousness and increase confidence. This class is highly recommeneded for those who are planning on scheduling a mock interview with a Goodwill Employment Specialist.
Job of Finding a Job
Learn how to become an efficient job seeker, find more job leads and tap into the hidden job market. In this class you will receive tools for time management as a job seeker while reviewing the diverse ways of securing employment.
Million Dollar Resumes
Turn your current resume or outline into an invitation to an interview by attending this hands on lab where you can sit on a computer and edit, enhance or begin drafting your resume. Staff will be on hand to assist with basic questions regarding formatting and editing to ensure you leave with a competitive resume.
Note: You must have attended Resume Essentials first before attending this class and have a completed resume outline.
Mock Interview
Feel like you’re ready? Sign up for a mock interview and receive positive feedback and tips through this one-on-one session that consists of a standard job interview with some of the most common questions followed by a thorough breakdown and review of performance. This valuable input will allow you to improve your ability to get hired at your next interview. Sign up for as many as it takes because practice makes perfect.

This 3 day workshop is for Veterans and Family Members of Veterans who are seeking work readiness skills in preperation for the upcoming hiring event on 11/05/14. The class covers a variety of topics related to securing competitive employment and is delivered over the course of 3 days.
Note: You have the potential to earn a certificate of completion by attending all 3 days of courses.
Resume Essentials
Learn up to date skills for resume creation to get your foot in the door with an employer. This class is designed to review resume guidelines and styles while providing you with useful examples and information on formatting and resume best practices.
Note: This course is required before attending Million Dollar Resumes.
Seal the Deal
Learn how to stand out from the competition by creating professional cover letters, reference sheets and thank you notes. This class will give you the opportunity to go far beyond the basics of job searching by giving you examples and best practices on how to effectively use professional documents throughout your job search.
Thinking Like a Boss
Learn how to complete job applications the right way to secure more interviews. In this class you will have the opportunity to review application best practices and how to answer difficult questions to stand out as a professional. Also, you will be given a Master Job Application to assist you in your job search that can save you hours of work.
